He is one of our country’s great story tellers, and his lyrics are always imbued with the images of film. Just sit back, close your eyes and listen for a great story to be screened on your imagination.

Quique González is here to present his new release alongside Luis García Montero.

Accomplices in poetry, music and life. “Las palabras vividas” (Living Words) is an unusual piece of work, in which la Quique González takes on perhaps the greatest challenge of his career; to adopt as his own the voice of his friend, Luis García Montero, who in turn, surrenders his poetic heart so that it might beat in the chest of the musician. Of all the difficulties inherent to a project of this kind, greater still than the extraordinary complexity of conceiving melodies suited to immutable and long since created verses, perhaps the greatest is to ensure the end result, songs combining music and words, preserves the credibility of what is being expressed. This is the high-risk challenge that has been met head on.

This is the first of Quique González’s records in which the musician is not the author of the lyrics, although he might well have been, given how naturally he interprets each and every word.
